PGE Halloween Festivities

October 27, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Tomorrow is our Halloween Party/Parade at PGE.  I just want to make sure that we are clear on costumes and how the parade will work.

  • Students should come to school dressed in their costumes, if desired.  No face paint, face coverings over their eyes, or “look alike” weapons please.  This is so students can walk through the building safely without anything blocking their vision.  School clothes should be underneath the costume so that changing out of the Halloween costume is easily done. Being this is also Red Ribbon Week, our theme for the day is Team Up Against Drugs, so we ask that students wear spirit wear under their costumes, or bring them to change into after the parade.
  • Students will participate in a morning parade around the school, beginning at 8:20 a.m.  Hopefully, parents/grandparents will be able to stop by to enjoy this!  Parents may also wish to bring younger siblings to watch the parade!  We ask that younger siblings not participate in the parade or classroom parties.
  • All classes will participate in a small Halloween party from 8:45-9:45 a.m.  If you do not wish your child to participate in the Halloween celebration, please send a note to the school office, and we will provide an alternate activity for them to participate in.
  • On this day, we would like to limit the amount of candy coming into the school.  Please do not send in any food items with your child unless you have signed up to bring an item.
  • After the parties are completed, we will resume a normal school schedule and parents are asked to take costumes home at this time.
  • Students will then participate in a PBIS assembly, beginning at 10:00 a.m.   All students will participate and have a chance to earn prizes for earning Eagle Eye tickets during the 1st trimester.

Please call the school office if you have any questions.

Thank You!

Mrs. Walsh

PGE Updates

October 13, 2016

We have a lot of fun things happening this month at PGE!

Today, we held our first Coffee and Conversation with the Principal Breakfast today.  We had an amazing talk and the families that attended and they brought up a lot of great ideas moving forward.  We have a lot of great things happening here at PGE and it is great to discuss how we can only improve moving forward.  Look in our November newsletter for our next Coffee and Conversation meeting! I look forward to seeing you there!

Tomorrow is our PTO Donuts with Dad/Special Person Day.  Our event runs from 7:15-7:50.  Doors open at 7:15 so please plan accordingly.  We can't wait to see you there!

Tomorrow is also our October Mix-It-Up Day.  Our theme for tomorrow is Dress Like an Animal Day.  We ask that students do not use face paint.  Look for Mrs. McKibben in her giraffe gear!

Tomorrow is also an Eagle's Nest Day.  I look forward to seeing what great purchases our students make for Being Responsible, Being Respectful, and Being Safe within the walls here at PGE!

Parent Teacher Conferences are being held next week on 10/19 and 10/20 from 4-7:30 p.m. Please contact the school office if you have not scheduled a conference or contact your student's classroom teacher.

Don't forget that next Friday, 10/21 is Teacher Institute, so there is no school!  Our staff will be learning new things to bring back to our classrooms this year!

Red Ribbon Week is 10/24-10/27.  This year's theme is YOLO (You Only Live Once) Be Drug Free.  Please see the flyer sent home with dress up day themes.  We try to get 100% participation during this week!

Respecfully,

Mrs. Walsh, Principal
